Remembering...Dr. Lester B. Rickman His vision and 27 years of dedicated service remain an inspiration to all. He served as Executive Secretary/Minister-President of the Mid-America Region from 1949 until 1976. In 1974, the conference center was officially named after him. SHE WILL BE MISSED... Mary Catherine Rickman, 81, of Columbia passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2004. | Mrs. Rickman was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Kansas City to David A. Enloe and Bessie Kelly. She married Manford Leon Pigg on Dec. 24, 1943, in Bonner Springs, KS, and he preceded her in death in 1974. She married Dr. Lester B. Rickman in 1979, and he preceded her in death in 1991. Mary Catherine was a preachers wife, having married, and served Christ and his church, at the side of two distinguished ministers. With M.L. Pigg, churches in Burlington, KS, North Kansas City, Hannibal, West Plains and Monett as well as Midwest City, OK, were served and two district posts in the Disciples organization while living at Dexter and Marshall. In each position, Mary Catherine was active in church service in numerous ways and always as the wife and mother of the family--often serving as the primary parent and second breadwinner in the family.
