Did you know that by attending to the interests and gifts of older adults in your congregation, you will revitalize your congregation? Older Adult Ministries is sharing with Cane Ridge Re-Vital to enhance and expand the work that we are both doing. Separate Saturday events now include materials about both revitalizing congregations and older adults in ministry.

Many clusters of churches in our Region are learning how revitalization includes older adult ministries, and what they can do to make this a reality in their own setting. Over 35 churches and nearly 250 church members have participated in Older Adult Ministries seminars over the past three years. Participants have begun a process of acting upon the opportunities for new programs that older adults bring to their church.

Our simple and engaging day holds a four-part process to guide churches in establishing intergenerational activities and programs which enliven all ages. By learning about alternative ministry methods, assessing what programs are already working, choosing options and then planning for activating ministry projects, ideas become tangible.

Free daylong Older Adult Ministries seminars are scheduled this fall, and you are invited to attend with your church leaders. All three are on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm:

Watch for our new educational videos available early next year. These can be utilized by any church, with various age groups, to begin to explore and discuss the unique gifts and experiences older adults have to share intergenerationally. Our web page offers many resource links as well as study materials.
