Regional AssemblyThe Mid-America Region holds a Regional Assembly every two years, hosted by a selected congregation from one of the four Areas within the Mid-America Region. The Regional Assembly provides a way for the whole Region to gather to worship and praise God through music and song, to learn together by attending workshops and by working together through various activities. The adminstrative work of the Region is conducted in business sessions. The First Vice-Moderator serves as the Chairperson of a Planning Committee of Disciples drawn from the entire Region to create a theme, plan the worship, find the guest speakers and generally oversee the Assembly. This group meets regularly the two years prior to the Assembly. The 2010 Fall Regional Assembly on October 8-10, was hosted by the North East Area at the First Christian Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. Former General Minister and President, now Executive Administrator of Christian Churches Together, Dr. Richard Hamm was the keynote speaker. Dr. Gary Peluso-Verdend, President and former Professor of Practical Theology of Phillips Theological Seminary spoke at the Ministers and Spouses Luncheon on Friday, lead Bible studies on Saturday and spoke at the All-Assembly Luncheon on Saturday. --2010 Regional Assembly Flyer --Greetings from Sharon Watkins, General Minister and President --Press Release 1 --Regional Assembly Slides --Dr. Danny Stewart State of the Region Address --Dick Hamm Sermon 1 --Dick Hamm Sermon 2 --Dick Hamm Sermon 3 --Peluso-Verdend Saturday Address --Peluso-Verdend Spouses Luncheon Address --Regional Mission Center Dedication Service (Slides) --Dedication Service Bulletin |
