The Rickman Center is a ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Mid-America. The Center is owned and administered by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Mid-America as a not-for-profit institution. Management is intended to be professional and businesslike in its operation and supportive of the goals of the Church of Jesus Christ.

The Center is located near the Regional Disciple Mission Center. Both facilities nestle on 200 wooded acres owned by the Region at the southern edge of Jefferson City, only 15 minutes by car from the Missouri Capitol Building and very near the geographical center of the Mid-America region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Rickman Center facilities include an assembly hall and a kitchen/dining area capable of serving 200 persons. An adjoining wing has 23 motel-type sleeping rooms with private baths and five meeting rooms. Nearby are 11 air-conditioned and heated cabins, which provide lodging for up to 110 persons. An outdoor chapel and prayer trail are also located nearby. Recreational opportunities include a swimming pool, sports playing fields, children’s playground, picnic pavilions, and a network of nature trails passing by the Moreau River which winds around the grounds.

The mission of the Rickman Center, a ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Mid-America, is to provide a setting for spiritual growth, renewal, education and fellowship.

In living out this mission, our ministry highly values: solitude, safety, natural settings, the witness of the presence of Christ, the witness of Christian Hospitality through inclusiveness, diversity and welcoming all God’s people.”

In accomplishing this mission the Rickman Center seeks to provide a Christian setting for groups to gather for spiritual growth, renewal, education and fellowship. This ministry of hospitality is made available to groups of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Missouri School of Religion and other religious and secular organizations whose purposes are compatible with the mission of the Rickman Center. In keeping with our mission statement, the Rickman Center Commission affirms that the future direction of the Center include programming initiated by the Rickman Center and development of financial resources and support in cooperation with the Mid-America Region.
