Atheism Old & New: How Should Christians Respond?

  • Trinity Lutheran Church 14088 Clayton Rd. (Clayton Rd. at Hwy. 141) Chesterfield, MO 63017 (map)

While books on “new atheism” top the bestseller lists, this course explores how “new” atheism may largely repeat challenges to Christianity by classic authors such as Feuerbach, Hume, Nietzsche, Marx and Freud. In response, beyond rebutting its claims, is Christian theology called to “disbelieve” in certain kinds of gods?

Instructor: The Rev. Dr. Robert Saler, Research Professor of Lutheran Studies at Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, IN.
