World Refugee Day

On December 4, 2000, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution proclaiming June 20th of each year as World Refugee Day. Since then, hundreds of World Refugee Day (WRD) educational events, food fairs, religious celebrations, and cultural events have been held each year across the country to provide opportunities for neighbors to engage and build relationships with their local refugees and immigrants.
