Make your church your NEXT church!
Your iPAD and your smart phone have a message for you: "Change is as inevitable as the tide but much faster and far less predictable."
Change is not happening only in your home or your work. It's happening in your church as well and you don't want your church to fall behind that wave. Join other Disciples in Jefferson City October 8-10 for the 158th Regional Assembly that will focus on transforming congregations through greater understanding of the organizational skills of Jesus, the expectations of a new generation looking to put down the roots of its faith, and the role of social networking in spreading the Word.
What better place to have as headquarters for a conference that celebrates our Biblical foundation while looking to the newness of the future than the historic First Christian Church of Jefferson City, three blocks from the Capitol. We will begin our conference there and conclude it with worship services in the newly-remodeled century-old sanctuary with its magnificent new organ.
"I Am Doing A New Thing" is the Assembly theme. "Believe it, Perceive it, Receive it" is the mission of the event and one of many messages you can take home to your own congregation from the conference.
What you bring home from the 2010 Regional Assembly can change your congregation in this era of emergent churches. Special workshops will share ideas and guidelines to shape your church for the seeking generations that will lead the congregation through the middle of the 21st Century.
Coupled with the Regional Assembly will be a special regional youth rally at the Rickman Center with fun activities and programs building Christian social and leadership skills for a lifetime of active participation in the church.
