An In-Depth Examination of Theater-Related Resources for Enhancing Sermon Presentations Sponsored by the University of Central Missouri, Theater and Music Division and First Christian Church, Warrensburg, Missouri.

Workshop Facilitator: Dr. Aaron Scully, Associate Professor and Meredith Harmon Sauer Distinguished Professor of Theater, University of Central Missouri

Participants: Limited to 12, Cost: $25.00, Credit: 3 hours continuing education credits

Requirements: Participants will have the option of submitting a sermon in advance for Dr. Scully’s evaluation or bringing a sermon to the work session as a beginning text for examining the use of dramatic resources. Topics to be considered include creating a flow of action, storytelling, message analysis/scoring, importance of conflict/dialogue, and sermon preparation/presentation.

Goal: To enrich our understanding of drama-related resources in order to create more dramatic and emotional presentations of the Gospel.

Refreshments (coffee, water, juice and snacks) will be available during the workshop.
