Richland Christian Church 210th Anniversary

  • Richland Christian Church, Glasgow 87 and Co Rd 306 Glasgow, MO 65254  United States (map)

The Richland Christian Church is excited to celebrate a remarkable milestone—its 210th Anniversary—on July 26th! The day will begin with a celebration church service at 8:30 a.m. The day will culminate in a special evening of fellowship featuring a delicious dinner and an auction. We warmly invite everyone to join us as we celebrate our rich history, enduring faith, and the many people who have been part of this church family through the generations.

Founded in 1816 by Thomas McBride, who also helped establish several other congregations, Richland Christian Church has deep roots in the Restoration Movement. Elder McBride was a disciple of Barton W. Stone, one of the movement's early pioneers. Today, Richland Christian Church is recognized as the second-oldest church west of the Mississippi River, a testament to its long-standing presence and faithful witness in the community.

The church's original home was a humble log structure located in what is now the church cemetery. Although that building was eventually lost to fire, the congregation's spirit and commitment remained strong. A new church building was constructed, and this year marks another special milestone as the current sanctuary celebrates its 100th anniversary.

We hope you will join us on July 26th as we honor the past, celebrate the present, and look forward with hope and gratitude to the future God has in store for Richland Christian Church.
