Disciples Mission Week has three great facets: education/awareness, day of volunteering, and celebration/worship.
1) Attend webinars Tuesday-Friday evenings at 6:30 to learn about various justice issues.
Food Insecurity — with Rev. Dr. Heber Brown III (Black Church Food Security Network), turning sacred land into gardens that feed communities
Healthcare Equity — with Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson (Children's Defense Fund)
Housing Insecurity — with Heart of the Rockies Christian Church, a Justice & Creation ministry site that hosted one of our Fellows
Disability Equity — with Revs. Dr. Topher Endress, Milton Keys & Sarah Lund
Mid-America clergy who attend all four webinars and submit a reflection paper of at least 750 words to Associate Regional Minister Rev. Angela Williams can earn renewal credit for their anti-racism training. Learn more and register here>
2) Saturday, September 12 is a day of volunteering. Click here to find resources and volunteer partners, and share how you and your congregation will be pitching in>
3) Celebrate Sunday, September 13’s worship in a special way utilizing liturgy components provided by Disciples leadership. Mid-America's own Rev. Derrick Perkins and Rev. Brenda Booth have contributed to these resources. There’s even a downloadable sermon by DHM President Rev. Chris Dorsey. Find it all here>
