THE MISSION OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH (DISCIPLES OF CHRIST):

To be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps "to the ends of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8)

As we continue to keep this mission as the focus of our collective ministry, we are happy to partner with others sharing similar goals. Learn more about all of our ecumenical partners here.  In addition, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) shares a special partner relationship with the United Church of Christ.  Some of our ordained clergy also share ministerial partner standing [link to appropriate clergy page with this information] within both denominations. Our common witness extends around the world through Global Ministries.

Closer to home we link up with other Disciples across the U.S. and Canada in the ongoing work of Reconciliation, responding to emergencies with prayers, funds, and hands.

Mid-America Disciples also enjoy a mutually supporting relationship with Woodhaven which promotes the ability and dignity of those with significant challenges.  Many of our pastors and other congregational leaders are well prepared to serve through the Center for Ministry and Lay Training at Phillips Theological Seminary and Disciples institutions of higher education.

We do our part to share good news stories about what God is doing through Mid-America Disciples with the wider Church.  We add to the resources for mission and ministry made available to congregations.
