Join the men at Shannondale for: spiritual growth, fellowship, mentoring, recreation & fun, great eating, service to the Shannondale community, and an opportunity to recharge.
The theme of the Saturday Spiritual bonfire is "A brave, an elk, and sacred drums." We will share ancient and personal stories then Rev. Ed Varnum will use our time around the bonfire through music to help us move further into sacred space together, which is a big part of what drumming in the native American culture is about. All men are invited. If you wish to, please bring lap drums, tambourines, or another percussion instrument of your choosing.
While the retreat officially begins around 10 p.m. on Friday, May 5 (to accommodate those who work a full day on Friday) men who wish to hike earlier that day in the Ozarks National Scenic Riverways on the Ozark Trail at Rocky Falls are invited to meet up for a hearty breakfast at the Main Street Diner in Salem, MO at 9:00 a.m. or at Shannondale at 11:00 a.m. for car pooling. If you are interested in attending, please contact Paul Koch, RMT and Mid-America Disciples Men coordinator at paul.ccma@sbcglobal.net or 636.221.7065.
Cost: $60 per person - includes lodging & food. All the information is on the brochure.
